Funlinks
Ok, so they don't have much to do with Finance. We all need
a break now and then! Be warned however, there are some pictures
of me biking etc. and some family/pet pictures as well.
Sports related--
SportsEconomist.com--add
it to your RSS reader! I love it!
NY Mets and
other Baseball
related sites--(Yes, a Mets fan!)
- The New York
Mets from the SportingNews
- New
York Mets Offical Page
- Always Amazin'!
A blog that has virtually all Mets News! Ok, so it is Amazing ;),
the EddieKranepool
Society, Rambling
on the mets, but good
- METSBlog.com, Shea's hotcorner--an
interesting Blog, SportSpyder.com
links to various Mets articles as they appear.
- NYFansOnly--have
to pay for all of it, but some good free stuff
- ESPN's Met's
coverage
- CNN/SI's baseball
page, and their Met's
page
- Newsday's coverage
- Yahoo
- NYMInsiders
Recently I had a student remind me that there was another NYC Baseball
team. Sure enough. The Mets' Farm Club the Brooklyn Cyclones!
Buffalo Bills and NFL Related Sites-(Football
is
probably my
favorite professional sport and the Bills are my favorite team by FAR)
- The Buffalo Bills' official site
- Three GREAT sites BillsDaily, TwoBillsDrive, and the BuffaloBillsInsider.
If it is not here, it probably has not happened.
- Two smaller sites but good: BillsBillsPage,
and Bills Thunder
- Bills news from the Buffalo News,
SportingNews,
and from NFL/ESPN.
Actually from NFL.com. Not as up to
date, but still good is SportSpyder
NFL from Sports Illustrated
- FootballOutsiders.com
- Mock
Drafts _is there any more excitement for football fans?
- Gregg Easterbrook is the Tuesday Morning QB.
If
you have not read this, read it. AWESOME!
My
favorite sporting event? Probably the Tour! 3 weeks of
excitement. Better than the SuperBowl!
- Le Tour--Good
(and in many languages)
- Eurosport
(Tour de
France and much else), Velonews,
OLN, Roadcycling.com, Bicycling.com all have much
coverage.
- LanceArmstrong of course also
has a pretty
cool site (check his training out!).
- Tour news from Google
- And a blog that is centered on the tour: TDFblog, Eddie's links
to the tour
- A few other good biking sites: George Hincapie, TylerHamilton.com -not
updated much, but it is Tyler. Christian Vande Velde,
- The Race Across America (RAAM)
is amazing. It only takes them a week to go from Pacific to
Atlantic! Unreal!
Bonaventure and College Basketball Related
- Well they just can not leave well enough alone, so now
there is the Bonnie
Bandwagon III. The BonaBandwagonII
was probably the most popular site abut SBU sports (and proof that some
people have a bit too much time on their hands. ;)) Here is a link to the old Bandwagon Page.
It is shut down, but at last check is still accesible for viewing.
- Less interesting is GoBonnies.com
the official SBU page (but it does have some cross country
news!)
- RPI
college Basketball poll-this is the one used by
the NCAA
USA
Today/ESPN college basketball polls
A few
other sports sites that I read as often as time permits
- College
Football, College
Basketball
- CNN/SI's Olympic
Coverage, NBC Sports,
- Fanblogs.com--By
far the best Blog I have seen for College Football--VERY good!
- OK, so this is the bad side of sports. Badjocks.com.
Just For Fun Links
- Some
Pictures-
Here are more
recent pictures. Cats, me biking and running,
but go ahead and click through anyways:)
- Biking
the Blue Ridge Parkway-Possibly most fun I have had since Cross
Country. Here is a good link
if you are planning to do it yourself.
- Speaking of Biking, I HIGHLY recommend the MS 150
series. Especially the ride from Pittsburgh
to Lake Erie. GREAT FUN!!!
- The Onion.com--Absolutely
Hilarious as is TheBrushback
which is basically the Onion but about sports only. You will definitely
laugh!!
- Dukes
of Hazzard (gee, I wonder..JMU Dukes..coincidence?)
- TheSimpsons.com
My favorite tv show.
- Broadcast.com-Good
for internat radio etc. Some books.
- Pictures of
Bicyling by Graham Watson. Unbelievably good!!
- The Matrix. Actually all of them! I am a big fan.
If
you haven't seen them, do so! Not sure of what is going on?
AFTER seeing the movie check out some of these links: What is the
Matrix
is the official site, FAQ from Know the Matrix, and MatrixTheories.com, and some
Matrix
Quizzes
Vacation-type links
These are in no order, just places I have been and liked
- Western NC Nature
Center in Asheville NC-very good, a cross between a zoo, nature
preserve, and animal hospital
- Williamsburg VA-Great
history, has to be a better link, let me know
- San Antonio-probably
my favorite US city-it has the missions (including the Alamo), The RiverWalk, other tourist
attractions, and even has good places to run! San Antonio Insider is a
very cool site devoted to SA. If I can find my
old DRS-Texas post on running in the city, I will include it...Believe
it or not, one of my all time favorite running courses is in Brackenridge Park.
Unfortunately it also has quite a bit of sprawl, but less than some
cities (DC). and finally a hiking
link from Texas.
- TravelbyPictures.com
is a great place to imigine a vacation evn if you can't go. :-)
WebCams
Tired of studying? Need a vacation? GO ahead...take a
mini-vacation to some of your favorite places...or someplace you have
never been! I always like to do that when things get
stressful. Just imagine,
as you are sitting taking a test or working, somewhere someone is
hiking,
or working out, or sightseeing :-)
- The
Alamo
- Niagara
Falls
- African Wildlife
(VERY good!) especially go to the Highlight
section!
- Hawaii,
Pearl Harbor
- Richmond VA
- Rehobath Delaware,
OC, and Cape May
- Marco
Island Florida
- My
favorite may be this one of the whole world. Shows sun!
